It’s time to #RockThePlate at The Brewers Plate 2016
10 Rock Star Chefs & 10 Rock Star Local Brewers Pair Up for War Child Canada
TORONTO: The Brewers Plate on Wednesday, May 18, is a celebration of local chefs, local food and local beer. It’s an indulgent evening featuring unlimited sampling of collaborations between renowned rock star chefs and Ontario brewers. Now in its ninth year, this charitable event is a one-of-a-kind tasting experience wrapped in a rock and roll theme and presented by 102.1 the Edge and Q107.
Participating chefs and breweries from across Ontario are collaborating to create dishes that will tell a story about local food and beer. Pairings include Henderson Brewing Co with Heirloom Food Truck, Sawdust City with Chef Kevin Prendergast of Tundra, Beau’s All Natural with Chef Bruce Wood (chef at Beau’s). Proceeds from this year’s event will directly support War Child, the internationally acclaimed charity that focuses exclusively on children affected by war. War Child works with local partners and communities to deliver programs that provide children with access to education, economic opportunity and justice. “War Child is excited to partner with The Brewers Plate as their charity of choice this year and to be part of an event that celebrates local communities,” says Barbara Harmer, Director of Corporate & Community Engagement at War Child. “Proceeds from this year’s event will do much to support our work with the most marginalized children and the communities that care for them in some of the most volatile areas of the world.”
Sampling is unlimited; please enjoy responsibly.
