Want to become an Ontario Craft Brewer? Here’s how!
The ever-growing craft beer industry in Ontario inspires the support of locally-grown ingredients in the production of beer. The FAB (Food and Beverage) region in Eastern Ontario is home to many farmers who offer the necessary local hops, fresh fruits and vegetables to local breweries.
The FAB Region was initiated based on partnerships between four Eastern counties and The Frontenac CDFC, a non-profit organization offering free business guidance to the public. Together, they have created ICraft, an organization who provides guidance for those who are interested in starting their own craft brewery. Opening a small brewery can provide revenue, increase tourism in the area and utilize the natural bounty that Eastern Ontario flourishes with.
The Brewers Plate supports craft breweries from Ontario who started out as small businesses focused on the use of local ingredients. Eastern Ontario is the ideal location to startup your own microbrewery with its low competition, untouched market, access to natural resources and close proximity to major border crossings. ICraft Brew is one of the endeavors of the FAB Region and focuses on the induction of small-scale craft breweries into the area. ICraft, along with the help of government funding, can help you fulfill your dream of starting your own brewing business!
With parallel ideologies, The Brewers Plate and ICraft have teamed up to present you with an evening of fine food from Ontario farmers and libations direct from local breweries.
